Can-Am’s story began in 1973 with our very first motorcycle, the MX. Just in time for the emerging motocross market, it paved the brand’s way forward and quickly gained a winning reputation. We’re no stranger to change; it’s just another excuse to innovate, even if it means bringing our legacy vehicle back in tune with modern times. With the Origin electric motorcycle, we have our sights locked straight ahead, looking forward toward what’s to come.
ATV: A RISING STAR
After an early focus on motocross racing, we made a bold new innovation with our Can-Am ATVs in 1997. They were instantly a hit, with the Traxter being named ATV of the year by ATV Magazine! In 2007, the Can-Am brand is reawakened at BRP. From then on, all ATVs would bear the name of the successful brand. Over the years, the Can-Am offering has diversified to include a multitude of models, all under the Can-Am name.
THE DO-IT-ALL RIDE FOR VERSATILE RIDERS
Can-Am cemented its key place in the industry when we introduced the Commander lineup in 2011. This versatile side- by-side meets the needs of riders who like to play, work, and everything else in between. The next major breakthrough at Can-Am came in 2014 with the introduction of the Maverick 1000R. With a never-before-seen engine, this side-by-side has been dominating races to this day, but now as the Maverick X3.
WORK TURNED INTO PLAY IN NO TIME
The Can-Am Defender was introduced in 2016 as the first utility side-by-side in the industry. What was an innovation for us helped push boundaries for workers on farms and ranches like never before. We’re going back to our roots with two new electric motorcycles, the Pulse and Origin. This time, our eyes are set on the future and sparking thrills for a whole new generation, whether it’s in cities or on trails.
